Richmond Police Department
Beat 1
Officer Jordan Smith
January 2010
This month I met with three new residents of Beat One. I met with Leo Acosta, who was outside working on one of his vehicles. Mr. Acosta stated that he was attempting to get the vehicle running so that he could sell it or move it off of his property. I informed Mr. Acosta that I was the Beat Officer and if there was anything he needed help with to call the police department. I met with Mike Ramon, who was outside of his house preparing to do some home repairs. Mr. Ramon stated that he was thinking of doing some home remodeling if the cool weather would let up a little. Mr. Ramon is a long time resident of Beat One and had nothing to report. I told him that I am the Beat Officer and if he needs any assistance with anything to not hesitate and call the police department. I spoke with Armando Salazar. Mr. Salazar lives next door to an abandoned house that I was attempting to gain further information about. Mr. Salazar stated that the house has been vacant for around two years. I told Mr. Salazar that I was the Beat Officer and if there were any problems with the house or in the neighborhood to call the police department.
This month, I checked on the status of registered sex offenders in Beat One. Based on the sex offender registry, there is one registered sex offender living in the beat. I was unable to talk with Rogelio Hernandez this month. I spoke with Mr. Hernandez’s mother and she verified that nothing has changed for Rogelio.
On Tuesday the 26th, I made a school visit to Pink Elementary and spoke with children in two of the classrooms before being called away. I plan on making Pink Elementary one of my regular visits.
