Richmond Police Department
Beat 2
Officer Vladimir Golovine
January 2010
During the month of January, I met three new residents of Beat Two. While talking to Richard Torres, on Mellon Street, Maria Rodriguez, who also resides on Mellon Street, walked up to us and joined our conversation. They shared with me their concerns about cars speeding in the area. I explained to them (Rodriguez and Torres), the laws pertaining to speed limits within the city. I also met with Pedro Olivera, who resides in the trailer park addressed as 1800 Preston, and we spoke about junk vehicles in the area.
During the month of January, I was also able to visit Deaf Smith Elementary and interact with some of the children that attend this school.
During the month of January, I discovered seven junk vehicles on Preston Street and Maiden Lane and I issued the property owner notices of violation. Seven junk vehicles were removed from Pultar Road, Preston Street, Rocky Falls Parkway, Paloma Street, and Carver Avenue.
Beat Two does not have any registered sex offenders living within its boundaries however, I checked on two registered sex offenders that reside in Beat Six.
I have to report bad news. Douglas Brau past away at age 54 on Monday, January 25, 2010, of natural causes. Mr. Brau was a former president of the Richmond Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni Association and a very active supporter of the Richmond Police Department. Mr. Brau did many ride alongs in my patrol car. Mr. Brau also assisted the Police Department with numerous community projects. Mr. Brau’s widow asked me to attend his funeral and to be one of the pallbearers. I gladly accepted and Mr. Brau was buried in Greenlawn Commentary, in Rosenberg, on Saturday, January 30, 2010.
