:    This month was good month in Beat 04.  I met three new beat contacts, Carlos Flores, Georgia Barbosa and Conpsicon Gonzalez.  I met with Carlos Flores in the front yard of his residence.  I introduced myself as his Beat Officer and asked if he had any questions or concerns to discuss.  Mr. Flores stated he did not have any questions or concerns at this time.  I supplied him with my business card and asked him to give me a call if he had questions.  I then met with Georgia Barbosa in the back yard of her home, while she and her family were watching a pay per view fight.  Ms. Barbosa stated someone had entered her back yard and stolen her dog a couple weeks ago.  She related that she observed a hispanic male looking through the window of her vehicle around the same time her dog was taken and that she scared off the hispanic male when she looked out the window and he saw her.  Ms. Barbosa advised the subject ran across the street into the tree line.  Ms. Barbosa stated this occurred around 3:00 PM, but she did not call the police on either incident.  These are the only problems she has had in the two years she has lived there.  I informed her I would patrol her neighborhood more frequently and would pass the information on to the other officers.  I supplied her with my business card and asked her to call the police for questions or concerns.  I also gave Ms. Barbosa a stuffed animal from my car for her four year old son.  I then met with Conpsicon Gonzalez at her residence.  Ms. Gonzalez stated that she has lived at her home for over thirty five years and has not had any problems with the neighbors or neighborhood.  In regards to the junk vehicle previously located at 807 Fields, I discovered that it has been removed from the property.  I also located a junk vehicle in the roadway in front of 715 Maiden Lane.  I made contact with the resident and she advised the vehicle is her son’s and he has been in jail for the past six months.  I informed her she needed to get the vehicle in compliance with the ordinance or have it removed.  She advised me she would get a key made for the vehicle and have it in compliance within the next week.   I located and removed several illegally posted signs from throughout the city.  During the month of August I will meet three new beat contacts.  I will continue to remove illegally posted signs and attempt to locate junk vehicles and other city ordinance violations in Beat 04.
