Beat 4
Officer Jaime Garcia
July 2010
This month I made three new Beat contacts: Margarita Ramirez, Frank Pena, and Alex Ascencio. Ms. Ramirez stated it was quiet in the area and she did not have any complaints. I provided Ms. Ramirez with my business card and I told her to contact me if there were any on going problems that needed to be taken care of.
I made contact with Mr. Pena. Mr. Pena said that the area has gotten better over the last couple of years. Mr. Pena stated that his brother owns a house in the area that is vacant and it was recently broken into. Mr. Pena was advised that the property has a criminal trespass enforcement and I told him to contact the PD if he sees anyone on the property. I provided Mr. Pena with my business card and I told him to contact me if he needed anything.
I also made contact with Mr. Ascencio who stated that it was pretty quiet in the area and he did not have any complaints. I provided Mr. Ascencio with my business card and told him to contact me, or the PD, if there are any problems in the area. This month I went to speak with the YMCA summer program. I spoke with the children age ranging from 5-11 years old and the counselors. I answered many questions about policing and I answered the questions that the kids had.
This month I made contact with Mr. Washington on a weekly basis and we talked about sports.
Since Officer Petty and I share a Beat, he made contact this month with the registered sex offender, Jeffery Mayberry, to confirm all his information is still correct.
This month I made contact with Anthony Wrench and I located a black 1995 Honda Passport on the side of his residence. I advised Mr. Wrench of the city ordinance for junk vehicles and I gave him 10 days to remove it from his property. Mr. Wrench stated he would have the vehicle removed and I gave him a written warning.
